Lakes & rivers in Sri Lanka

Gregory Lake

This is a nice Lake which is located in the center of Nuwara Eliya. All most all the tourists and locals who visit Sri Lanka do not forget to visit this beautiful lake.

Hamilton Canal

The Hamilton Canal (also commonly known as the Dutch Canal) is a 14.5 km (9.0 mi) canal connecting Puttalam to Colombo, passing through Negombo in Sri Lanka

Sembuwatta Lake

Sembuwatta Lake is a tourist attraction situated at Elkaduwa in the Matale District of Sri Lanka, adjacent to the Campbell’s Lane Forest Reserve.

Kandalama lake is another reservoir located in Kandalam near to Sigiriya. This is also a tourist attracted place.

This is the main lake which is located in the economical capital of the island. This adds an extra beauty to the Colombo city.

Kala Wewa

This is one of the ancient lakes in Sri Lanka. This was built by king Dathusena in the era of Anuradapura.

This is the longest river in the country. It satisfies many needs of people in Sri Lanka.

Madhu River

This can be named as the most tourist attracted river in Sri Lanka. It you visit the country don't forget to take a ride at Madu river.

Manik Gaga

Manik river is another important river in Sri Lanka. It flows through Kataragama which is a sacred city in Sri Lanka.
